Then, block the entryway to the restroom with your janitorial cart or place a “closed for cleaning” sign on the door. Don your gloves and safety glasses, then remove any objects around the toilet that may impede cleaning.

Put the toilet seat down, then flush the toilet. Squirt your toilet bowl cleaner under the rim of the toilet and let it sit while you clean the toilet’s exterior. Wipe it down with a disinfectant cleaner, but don’t use a sponge. Instead, opt for a disposable rag, paper towel or disinfecting wipe that won’t spread bacteria. Start cleaning at the top of the toilet, then work your way down. Don’t forget to disinfect the seat! Then, scrub the bowl with your bowl brush and flush the toilet again.

Start by flushing the urinal and removing any blocks or screens, then squirt your bowl cleaner on the inside edge. Let it sit while you disinfect the exterior surfaces of the urinal, making sure to wipe down the flushing handle and pipes. Scrub the interior using your bowl brush, then flush it again. Add a new block or urinal screen to the bottom.
