Outside Sales Representative – Metro St. Louis (IL and MO)
We are a family owned distribution business with a long and successful history in the Metro St. Louis market. We are looking for individuals to join our sales team. This is a 100% commission position. Our product mix includes janitorial, packaging, office supplies, food service and safety. Income potential is un-limited. We offer paid training, leads and healthcare coverage.

REQUIRED SKILLS – Highly motivated driver/self starter – Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products, systems, etc., to fulfill customer need and expand company product mix in the customer – Effective communicator (verbal and written) – Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills – Excellent interpersonal skills – Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills – Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes – Ability to work independently without supervision – Pro active approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients – Strong customer service skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Reports to the Director of Sales – Develop and expand new and existing customer relationships and purchases – Prepare sales presentations, proposals and quotes with the assistance of Director of Sales – Maintain customer and prospect records – Maintain and grow trading margins – Facilitate contract pricing through procurement departments where volume warrants pricing deviations – Build relationships with vendors to increase product awareness – Attend all sales meetings and training seminars to expand product line awareness – Must have reliable transportation; laptop; smart phone – Understanding of ERP &CRM software

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – BA in business or marketing or equivalent work experience – 1-2 years of B2B sales experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS – Ability to communicate fluently and accurately in English – Excellent vocabulary, Clear speaking voice – Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memo’s – Ability to write succinct, clear, and accurate correspondence

OTHER SKILLS – Willingness (ability) to learn all aspects of distribution business – Good telephone skills – Ability to interact well with others – Ability to solve problems involving several variables – Basic math ability (add, subtract, divide, multiply, decimals, fractions, percentages, etc.) – Ability to use common sense when carrying out written or verbal instructions – Ability to write routine reports – Ability to speak before groups (employees, vendors, customers, etc.)
